About This Page Organized similar to other pages on this site, the California GIS Map & Information Sites page will provide you with links to county and city resources for online Geographic Information Systems ("GIS") mapping and information. GIS Interactive mapping will include overlays of selected services in the mapped area and in some cases satellite photos of the mapped site. Some counties are just developing their GIS projects. The GIS mapped data sets and types of maps available vary widely from county to county. Some counties have a GIS division, others provide specific GIS maps through different county departments. If there is no link on this page for GIS mapping for a particular county does not mean that there is no GIS at that county. Links to the county home pages are provided so that you can check further at their sites. Typical county departments that offer GIS maps are Public Works, Planning, or Assessor, but they could also be incorporated into other departments or divisions.
